HEART: Week 15

Last week I chose to do a HEART assignment where I decided to post a a snap chat abotu why I am happy eveyday for a week. This got a decent amount of attention from my friends and I will probably continue to do this here on out. I think it helped me realize what I should be happy for the more I thought about it.

Tech Tip: Pinterest Research

I decided to search for crockpot recipes on Pinterest to try and find something that I could make this weekend. I found lots of soups but one stuck out to me the most. I chose to make potato soup with hashbrowns in it. I had never thought of that and thought that it would be a great idea!

I Started with exclamation point and then moved on to warning signs and that took me to traffic signs and lastly, I ended with fingerspot.

Review

I really enjoyed the meme that talks about Twitter not using punctuation. I always see that and get so frustrated. I have attached the meme below.

Week 15: The New Age Cinderella

There once was a girl named Cindy who lived in a small town in Oklahoma. When Cindy was ten her mother died suddenly in a car crash and she was devastated. It took her and her father several years to grasp the idea of inviting another woman into their home to help support them. When Cindy turned sixteen her father took her to dinner and introduced her to a woman and her two kids, who would later turn into her stepmom. Now Cindy’s father was a big executive who was constantly on the road.
Shortly after they got married her father was planning a trip overseas for 3 months straight. Instead of going with him, Cindy was told she was going to have to stay and help take care of the new family and get them situated. As soon as he left, the new mom decided to show her true colors to Cindy and let her know that her life would be changing. Instead of the freedom and fun that Cindy was used to, she was now stuck doing housework and helping her two new sisters do their homework.
About two months into her father leaving they received an invite to the prom for their high school. This was so exciting and all three girls started planning their perfect night. As soon as Cindy stressed how excited she was, her new stepmom told her she was unable to go because she had other plans for her. She was told he would be getting the other girls ready and also deep cleaning the house that night. Cindy was so upset but pushed through and decided to make the best of it.

The day of Prom Cindy helped everyone get ready and then decided to take a break before she started cleaning. She went out to the creek near their house and cried until someone came and asked her what was wrong. The stranger decided to help Cindy and to make sure she went to her prom. They quickly got her ready and found the perfect mask to help her hide her identity from her sisters. When she got there she was by far the most beautiful girl there. Even though it was a short night there, she had a great time and felt like a normal teenager again.

Authors note:

I took this story from the original piece called "Cinder-Maid". It is about a young girl who is abused by her stepmom and is unable to go to a ball. A stranger helps her get dressed and go to this wonderful party, where she meets her prince charming. I loved making this story more modern and realistic.
