Week 5 Story: The Friendly Stranger

Story:
There once was an older man who had been homeless for a long time and went by the name of John. He did not have a steady job and so he would wait and ask all of the people walking on the sidewalks near downtown. He was always there and somehow he always provided just enough food for him and his wife. One day he had enough of struggling day to day and so he decided to go to the Trump tower to see if there was any way that he would help him. When he got there Trump and his assistants were talking about a haunted house that was on the outskirts of town. It was known to be the most haunted place in the country and Trump wanted to see who could do it and make it out alive. John spoke up and said he was up for the challenge. Trump told him if he decided to do that he would not only give the man a skyscraper with a penthouse, but he would also give him one of his five star restaurants to profit from.
That following night John started his journey to the house, despite the fact that his wife begged him not to. He made the hour long walk and was ready for the task at hand. When he first saw the house he started to shake and show his fear. All of a sudden someone appeared next to him and asked what was wrong. He told him about the bet and how poor he had been and how this would change his life. The man told him to follow him and he will keep him safe. They walked up the steps and entered the house. As soon as the door shut behind him the ghosts started making their way to him. The man stopped in front of the ghosts and told them that they were to keep him safe because he was a friend. They did as he said and the man walked back to Trumps tower that next morning.
When he got to the tower Trump followed through with his commitment and granted him his new house and business. The man was so pleased and grateful that he invited all the poor people to come and eat for free in this restaurant. The man who helped him came and was present but shortly slipped away after telling John he had done what he came to do.  It was a great celebration and John and his wife lived happily ever after, never seeing the man again.

Authors note:

This started out as an old time ghost story that took place in a village with a king. The man still completed his task of going to the haunted tree and was granted a farm with lots of crops. The ghosts also helped him farm his land when he was in need. I thought adding a recent time period to this story would help draw the reader in and help them connect more.

Week 4 Storytelling: Blaine's Love Story

This story is now in my portfolio on google sites. Below is the link to my portfolio website.
https://sites.google.com/view/acethestory/love

The story all starts with Blaine, a 25-year-old successful business owner, who lived in the penthouse in the middle of this New York skyscraper. One night he couldn’t sleep and so he stepped out onto the patio that overlooked the majority of New York. While looking out on all of the other buildings, a beautiful woman who happened to be showering in her apartment across the street caught his eye. He requested that his assistant find out who this was immediately and how he could have her as his own. He waited a few days and finally, his assistant came through. Her name was Halle and she just happened to be one of his employee’s wife. He ended up calling her and inviting her over and she showed up late one night when her husband was working late. They ended up having a great night together that ended in Halle getting pregnant. When they first found out, both Blaine and Halle were overwhelmed with emotion and panic. Blaine promised her he would take care of the situation, and that he did.

A few weeks after the news Blaine sent Halle’s husband, Jack overseas to run his corporate office over in Australia. He played it up and made it an opportunity that Jack could not turn down. When Jack told Halle, she took that opportunity to end things and break up the marriage. Within another two weeks, Jack was leaving and was not expected back anytime soon. Halle decided to move into the penthouse with Blaine and they both started their life together. A year later they are happily married with one seven month old and another one on the way. For Jack, he is thriving in the company and has no idea what is taking place with his ex-wife and boss.

Authors Note:
This story came from the story of Bathsheba and David in the old testament of the Bible. She was a wife of a soldier in Davids army and he wanted her. Once he got her, she got pregnant and so David had her husband put at the front of battle and killed. David then moved her into his house and made her his wife. I tried to make it a current time so that it through a unique twist to the plot.
